20m Power / Sailing Yacht

Craig Loomes Design Group has worked in close colaboration with Powersail New Zealand Ltd to deliver this truly radical new concept. The vessel has been developed to sail and motor at 18 knots. She incorporates many novel features including dynamic trim control, lifting keel, water ballast, a completely retractable propulsion unit and full standing headroom on two levels. All control systems are set up for short-handed use.

The interior is set up to accomodate up to 3 couples and 2 crew, all with en-suite head and shower compartments. A fully appointed galley, home theatre / library, workshop, stern garage, laundry and large cockpit complement the extensive living areas.

Large scale model testing has been concluded using CLD's mobile towing rig. The reults have confirmed the powering requirements and operational speeds for both the 15m and 20m versions of this novel vessel.
