Designed by Craig Loomes Design Group of Auckland and constructed by Northland Contract Boatbuilders, also of New Zealand, the Esprit Catamarans' concept shares some of the packaging philosophy associated with cars such as the Smart Car or Mercedes A-class. It is intended to maximise the volume of a small package and create real, useable space without the need for high powered, heavy and expensive engines to achieve a useful cruise speed and respectable range.
